Another macro shot! This time of raindrops on grass steams. It seems the the photograph probably used some post production to boast the contrast and the saturation of the colours. The raindrops are perfectly in focus a single line of them cutting the photograph in two. The rest of the photograph is pout of focus provide a blurred backdrop of colours. It is a lovely photograph.

It was the bright colours that drew my attention. A lovely macro shot of the inside of a poppy. The centre of the flower is to one side of the picture creating ‘the golden section’. The many stamen in the centre of the flower and the petals creating a pattern effect. The colours are very bright and compliment each other.

This is a landscape shot. The colours in the sky are what drew my attention to this photograph. It is composed very well; the landscape tasking up two thirds of the photograph and the sky taking up the remaining third. The piece of ground in the foreground of the picture provides a lead in line as well as interest. The shutter speed used must have been a few seconds as the water has a silky quality.

Title: Astrantia

I like macro shots. This one has some nice detail of the individual small flowers that make up the whole. Part of the picture is slightly out of focus, probably due the use of a large aperture. The effect is very picturesque. The picture also follows the ‘golden section’ with the intersecting lines being where the flowers are in focus. The eye is drawn to the larger flower which is also the one which is partly in focus, then eye is then drawn to the flower on the right of the larger flower.

Again I found this photograph on flickr. The colours are particularly compelling. According to the photographer the stones in the foreground were added later as foreground interest which I think works particularly well.

With the addition of the stones the photograph follows the golden section, with the line of the ocean being intersected with the line coming from the first stones on the left.

The photograph has beautiful colours and the setting creates a calm and peace.

I found this photo on flickr it is taken by Liberato http://www.flickr.com/photos/liberato/. It is a photo of the Dolomites in Italy.

The first thing that attracted me to this photograph was the cloud formation over the mountains with the sun just peeping through and the rays hitting the pine trees. The eye is drawn almost immediately to the clouds of weather in the background.

The photograph seems to be divided into three, the clouds forming the first third the the mountains forming the second third and the countryside in the foreground.

The little path in the foreground provides a line that draws the eye to the countryside and the small houses.
